Well – I remembered you all yesterday when you celebrated Independence day and here are the folks who did the deed!
I salute this brave and diverse and rich nation and the wonderful people who are proud to be American. Your wisdom and passion and creativity and positivity are an inspiration.
To laugh often and much, to win respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics,
to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others,
to leave the world a bit better, wether by a healthy child,
a garden patch …. to know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded!

Thank you America. God Bless America !!
….and I celebrated the day, too, by attending the Lunchtime Recital in Birmingham Cathedral! Music by Bernstein, Barber, Joplin, Sousa, Gershwin and others was a real joy to the ear; to see two (male) organists playing duets on the normally sedate Cathedral organ was also a hoot to the eye! Four hands and four feet looked very entangled at times!
